This is an original Californian surf brand founded by Rusty Preisendorfer who moved to San Diego as a 13 year old in the 1960s. He very quickly became a surfer and board shaper and by the 1970s was helping to create boards for world champions.
Throughout the 70s and 80s Rusty’s board shaping skills and business flourished, and the clothing side of the business was launched in 1988. Throughout the 90s this popular boardshort and clothing brand spread all over the world conquering Europe, Japan, Brazil, and Indonesia.
The fashion from this label has always departed from the norm and injects a unique and edgy style into all of it’s collections. In 2006, Rusty Australia bought the worldwide rights to the clothing part of the business and has since continued to create designs in t-shirts, boardies, jeans and more that thrill surf and urban fashion fans all over the globe.
